The role of N-terminal module of PhyB in modulating root and hypocotyl growth length in Arabidopsis

Phytochrome belongs to red/far-red light family of photoreceptors. It exists in two spectral forms named red absorbing form (Pr), said be the inactive and far-red (Pfr) which is active form. This photoreceptor structurally divided into modules- amino acid (N-) terminal photosensory module caboxylic (C-) His kinase-like catalytic output module. Five different types exist Arabidopsis (PhyA-E). Roots hypocotyls elongation regulated by photoreceptors one class phytochrome. The role phytochrome B (PhyB) responses has been established through studies using PhyB mutant truncated versions. N-terminal containing 651 acids was shown biologically regulating photomorphogenesis. Meanwhile, C-terminal long assumed involved downstream signal transduction.
